In February, the gallery will feature the work of David Scherrer and Gene Jaress. This vibrant exhibit will consist of travel photography and block prints.

David Scherrer


Born to a traveling family, David Scherrer began producing photographs under a house on stilts when he was 10. David had his first exhibition of Turkish streets scenes, while a high school student in Ankara. He went on to study photography at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA.

David has created works in various mediums, including B/W, Cibachrome, dye transfer, and digital inkjet. He has taught photography classes for W.W.U., North Cascades Institute, and served a photography residency in County Mayo, Ireland in Ireland in 2007. Within the recent past, David has shown his work at the Whatcom Museum of Art in Bellingham, Washington, the 1212 Gallery in Richmond, Virginia, and the Benham Gallery, Seattle. In 2008 and 2010, David was presented with the Kent Arts Commission award.

David Scherrer resides in Bellingham, WA where he makes his living as a freelance photographer and artist.
